An impressive sign of Twitter’s success: there are now more than 1 million third party applications available to improve the user experience on this incontestable micro-blogging service.
Twitter’s popularity amongst developers has been particularly noticeable over the last twelve months. A year ago, there were already 150,000 applications available to run in conjunction with the tweeting platform. These include, for example, analysis tools like “Klout”, which measures the online influence of users. Or even content curation services, like “Paper.li”, which edits an online newspaper based on content shared by the followers of a person active on Twitter.
On the other side of the coin: with this proliferation of applications, it’s hard to sort the wheat from the chaff!Provided by YC/ATC-TCL.com
